Our Story
1998 - The beginning of the journey
Franchisors, Grant & Sarah Archibald, along with eldest son, open Speedy Signs' pilot store in Penrose, Auckland.
Building the business from the ground up, Grant and Sarah ran the Penrose store for two and a half years. “Not having come from the industry it was important that we knew the business inside out so that once franchising began, we were able to give support to our valued franchisees,” says Grant.
1999 - Exhibited at franchise show.
2000 - Started franchising
East Tamaki, Manukau, Albany, Newton & Christchurch Central opened.
2001 - A busy year, with 5 new locations.
Hamilton, Wellington Central, Riccarton, Downtown & Newmarket opened. Digital printing added to standard equipment.
2002 - Opened Takapuna, Dunedin & Hutt Valley
2003 - Group turnover reach $5 million
2005 - Speedy Signs opens in Whangarei
2006 - Group turnover reached $10 million
2007 - Opened Rotorua, Nelson & Invercargill
2008 - Speedy Signs Celebrates 10 Years in Business.
Hastings, Palmerston North & New Plymouth opened.
2011 - Co-brand location trialled at Rotorua
2012 - Speedy Signs rebrand
2013 - Group turnover reach $15 million
2015 - Manukau ranked in the sales top 10 within its international franchise
2016 - Opened Henderson & Queenstown
2017 - Opened Kapiti-Porirua and Tauranga.
Celebrates Signarama Australia's 20th year in business at Coogee Beach, Sydney.
2018 - A year of celebrations
Speedy Signs celebrates 20 years in business. Grant and Sarah Archibald, personally congratulated by Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.
Group turnover reached $20 million in annual sales.
Speedy Signs New Plymouth named Supreme Franchisee of the Year!
2019 - Speedy Signs travel to Guangzhou, China
2020 - A team of 52 participate in Round the Bays
